Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her first roles on Broadway include roles in the Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The actress was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed directors and actors across stage both on and off screen. She keeps working on that award-winning project with various new projects in the pipeline. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show is set to premiere on November 22nd and Ashford will be starring opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford currently is working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. It is Hulu Original, the film will be released on Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford will come back in 2023, and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform an upcoming revival production of Stephen Sondheim Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford previously starred as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the crisis in America that picked to Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment trial in more than 100 years. Over the course of two seasons, Ashford was a star of the critically acclaimed CBS comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, in which she starred alongside iconic actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford is the recipient of the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. In addition, she was in Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original performance as Lauren on Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for an Tony Award. Ashford, who was raised in Denver and now lives split between Los Angeles & New York.
